Sort of. I am amazed at how I (and many of you) justify purchasing yet another mascara or lip gloss or blush to add to the other mascaras and lip glosses and blushes I already own. This weekend, in order to prevent myself from buying unnecessary makeup I didn't really need, I looked through my collection to see how much of my stuff I actually use and how much I wanted to use more before I owned it. In the past, I told myself that I would use up all of the cosmetic and skincare products I owned before buying anything else. That was crazy. At the time, though, I really believed I could do it. Now, to make another attempt at controlling my makeup consumption, before I buy anything else, I will use up my core group of regulars (the things I actually trash empty containers of and buy again) and will not buy until the empty container is in the trash.
So here are the items in my makeup bag that are in regular rotation and (most) have been for years. Warning: It's so boring, but makes TOTAL since since these items have made up my everyday fresh-faced look for years!
From left to right:
1. L'Oreal True Match powder in C8
2. Clinique Almost Powder in 08 -Deep Golden (Got this one in my prize pack from the Clinique Insiders win and am officially on this stuff for life.)
3. L'Oreal Blushesse in Au Naturel
4. MAC lip pencil in Chestnut
5. Maybelline Great Lash mascara-waterproof
6. Revlon Brow Fantasy Gel (I NEVER use the pencil up, but have to buy more gel. Such a waste.
7. Strawberry chapstick did not make it onto the list since my lip gloss and Rose Bud Salve by C.O. Bigelow have officially replaced my life-long lip balm of choice.
What are some of your regulars? Please tell me they're not as blah as mine.
Regulars that I use every day are Cover Girl's Lash Blast mascara and CO Bigelow's mint lip gloss. I don't wear make up everyday but I do wear mascara and lip gloss all day everyday so, when I shop cosmetics, it's usually for more mascara and gloss. Oh & another regular is my eyelash curler. ;-)

I have to share because mine are even more blah than yours - in fact, click here to see me with a full face of make up (http://reginawalker.net/aboutus.aspx).
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheer (Bronze Glow)
Lancome Hypnose Mascara (Black)
MAC eyeliner (Ebony)
A MAC eyeshadow that I no longer can read the shade - it's a neutral brown
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss (Dreamy)
I have completely changed from my college days of Sam Fine and Kevyn Aucoin tips!

This post made me want to start wearing makeup every day, but since I have asked you to help me over and over again, I have requested other help. So there!
And thanks.
Question: When I used the True Match powder it looks like powder. Should I be using the liquid?

@Shawnta- CO Bigelow's mint lip gloss is my new "Chapstick"! lol LOVE it. Will never be without it.
@Wounded Healer- 1. Love your mission statement! 2. Um. Yeah, Your list is in no way blah. Aside from the brands listed, you actually have a regular eyeshadow, which DQs you from the blahs.
@ Adriane- But you didn't have to put me on blast like that though. lol And yes, the liquid looks just like skin. But the Clinique Almost Powder is a mineral powder that when applied after moisturizer makes your skin look like butter (a la my social networking site and blog profile pictures)

It's hard to part with things we like. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup. My daily routine is just about a bit of lovely gloss and I'm gone. I don't wear anything else unless I'm going out.
However I am constantly changing my nail polish. For that reason, I've got my favorites in that department. I should probably throw out some of them but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe next time I buy a new bottle, I'll exchange it for one of ones I have had for a while.

Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your article seem to be running off the screen in Chrome. I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem resolved soon. Thanks
