Yo Gabba Gabba Live in Austin was awesome!

A little background. I entered a video of my two year old playing drums in the Yo Gabba Gabba Cool Tricks Facebook contest. Then I begged for my Facebook friends to vote for weeks on end. Thanks to their votes, he won! The prize: VIP tickets to the show, tons of organic toddler snacks by Revolution Foods and access to the after party to meet the Gabba Gang. I thought we would get to meet DJ Lance too, but when he didn't show up early on at the after party, we asked the door guys and alas, it was not meant to be. No DJ Lance. But we sat so close to the stage, that every time he came to our side of the stage, he appeared to wave right at us. Although I can't say definitively, my guess is that he did wave right at us because we stuck out like brown...brown...sore thumbs in a sea of white thumbs. Mhm. DJ Lance waving at us was enough for my son to think he had actually met DJ Lance, which works for me.

I shared my prize with an awesome friend who is as crazy about the Gabba gang as I am. She's way more into Biz Markie (of Biz's Beat of The Day) than me though, which made for a SWEET bonus for us! Biz invited some kids up to do beats with him on the mic. When he came to our side of the stage, she actually pushed me towards the aisle to get Zack up to the stage. I wasn't fast enough though and when it looked like my boy wouldn't get a shot, I reached above the crowd (grateful for my long armededness), tapped the security guy on the shoulder, held my son up like Mufasa and said, "This is Zack, the Cool Tricks winner! Please let him go!" Yes, I used the one opportunity I would ever get to drop my son's name for special treatment and it worked! He took Zack out of my hands, above the heads of the folks in front of me and placed him on Biz's lap. The rest is Yo Gabba Gabba Live Austin history. In all the excitement and frenzy, my friend got a video of some of it, but the audio isn't strong enough to share. And here's a bit of the "Party In My Tummy" footage from the show. Yes, that's me singing along. I am not ashamed. DJ Lance Rock was ON the whole time. He has to be the hardest working man on Nick Jr....

This whole experience was the highlight of my life as a mom. First my son was featured on the Babies film DVD, now this. I feel like I've won the stay at home mommy lottery. Keep it comin' Universe! Bring it!

Hey, Quel! I know! YGG R-O-C-K-E-D!! This was so much fun and it was SOOOOOO great to see a wonderful little boy like Zack up on the stage and on the big screen! fyi - You deserve all the universe is showering you with and more!!!! Love ya, O.M. buddy!
