We went to the 11th Annual Dragon Boat Festival here in Austin this weekend. We arrived late because I slept until almost 11 a.m. and Zack went down for his nap shortly after I woke up. It started at noon. We missed the geisha and karate performances and all the fun Asian cultural stuff. Still, we got there in time to see the last race and enjoy some people watching and much needed QT outdoors on a beautiful day.

Dragon Boats
We went to the 11th Annual Dragon Boat Festival here in Austin this weekend. We arrived late because I slept until almost 11 a.m. and Zack went down for his nap shortly after I woke up. It started at noon. We missed the geisha and karate performances and all the fun Asian cultural stuff. Still, we got there in time to see the last race and enjoy some people watching and much needed QT outdoors on a beautiful day.

I'm reading this one as part of a Mocha Moms book club. Amy Chua was the keynote speaker at our National Conference in Las Vegas last year. She made a great impression on me. My son loves this book! He's learning to read now, so he relates to Rocket. At night, he says he wants to wake up with a waggy tail, ready for class. :-)Clark Aldrich: Unschooling Rules: 55 Ways to Unlearn What We Know About Schools and Rediscover Education
Recommended reading by the elementary school I'm considering for my son.
