My neck of the 'burbs just got it's very own Half Price Books! I sold some books that had been in my car for months. The wait in Austin was usually way too long to wait with a baby in tow and I always ended up waiting until another time. Today, it only took about 30 minutes.
One of the books I sold was Zane's Sex Chronicles. I bought it back in 2006, tried to read it, then promptly decided that it was to "grown-up" for me. I had decided to step out of my reading box and try reading steamy novels by black authors, which seem to be so popular. Um. Yeah. I had stepped too far outside my box. I was shame. I wrote that in a mini-review on my reading list back then.
Anyway, when they called me back to the desk to pick up my cash, the clerk asked if I was Raquel--yes--then she pulled a ticket off the top of my stack of books. Why was Zane's Sex Chronicles right on the top? For some reason "SEX" seemed to be in larger type n the spine and cover than I had recalled. There where men, women and children all around the desk waiting to sell books. I was shame all over again.

Grown married woman with child. I think everyone is aware that you are at least marginally familiar with sex. At least a little bit.
