Well...not a celebrity-celebrity. Maybe I should just call him an actor. So I saw an actor in the Miami airport. You see neither Billy nor I could remember his name or exactly where we knew him from. If it hadn't been for his (super skinny, too-glammed up for airport travel, extensions down to there, toting a pocket sized-pooch in a LV bag) travel companion, we prob'ly wouldn't have even noticed him. He was also really tall and super skinny and carrying a garment bag that I recognized from paparazzi celeb-shopping photos. It was fabric, maybe carrying one suit, and was solid brown with one word, Gucci, printed on it in gold letters.
They cleared the security screens just after we did. I had finished putting my shoes back on when Zack pointed in their direction and and screamed, "Dog! Doggadoggadog!" Of course I was excited to see the dog too, but the woman who was putting the dog back into the fancy carrying case was not at all interested in Zack, me, or the toddler in line behind them who were all gaga over the dog. I remember thinking how surprised I was that she was traveling with a dog and yet was so cold. She never even glanced in the direction of the kids who were so happy to see her dog.
As we left the security creening area for the gates, I caught a glimpse of the guy's face underneath his hoodie and told Billy I thought he might be famous. I was joking. We had joked about seeing a celeb in the Miami airport because a friend of ours always sees somebody famous when she's in Florida. We walked behind them for a few gates and passed by them when he and his travel mate stopped by one of the shops. I glanced back to see if I could get another look at his face. I did. He was looking in our direction already and when I looked back, our eyes met and he half-smiled at me as if to say 'yes, I am who you think I am, you got me even through my hoodie disguise.' I smiled back. Little did he know how little I knew about who he was.
Billy had seen his face too and recognized him as a BET stand-up comic and a member of the Glory Road or Get On The Bus cast or some similar film with an ensemble cast of black men. Even with all those clues, I still only recognized the guy as "familiar". Right now, I'm not sure who he was. I tried googling BET comics and looked up Get On The Bus and Glory Road on Imdb.com, but I don't recognize him from any of the pictures. He probably doesn't even have a picture on his Imdb profile. I'm positive I would recognize him if I saw him again though. I'll keep googling to see what I can figure out.
I tried rottentomatoes.com just before saving this post and my final attempt worked! Sort of. Here is a pic of the guy, still don't know the name, but this is him. Anybody know his name?
